Read the ocean. Feel the wave. Accept the fall.
At Lafitenia, we start by watching. Because here, the beach has its codes, its regulars, its perfect lines and its small sanctuary for local surfers. We are not landing on this wave in fashion: “I saw two YouTube tutorials and Point Break three times.” Lafitenia respects each other, observes each other, reads from the sand, admiring those who know the ocean as an old path.

To get in the water, learn, progress or master the board, head for Mayarco. There, a private or group surfing lesson allows you to read the ocean in a different way. Here, we don't just come to learn how to get up on a board. We come to understand the sea. Before you even leave, you can observe the offshore lines, the wind, the tides, the invisible currents that already tell the story of the session.
At your side, a local surfer shares the keys to feeling the ocean, not just surfing it. In the water, the advice is simple, precise, lively: how to position yourself, when to leave, when to give up too. There will be clumsy attempts, sharp falls, salty bursts of laughter... and sometimes that suspended moment when everything lines up: the wave arrives, the board slips, and suddenly you are in.
There is no need to force that moment. It happens when you learn to listen. Take the Wave is an introduction to surfing on Mayarco beach, but also a discreet greeting to Lafitenia, this sacred wave that we admire before dreaming, perhaps one day, of deserving it.
